Cola®Trope INC is a versatile, low foaming anionic surfactant/hydrotrope and designed for the use of coupling nonionics and other surfactants into products where high levels of electrolytes may be present. It is especially effective in formulating alkaline built liquid detergent concentrates. This product is not generally intended for low pH systems.

When compared to Sodium Xylene Sulfonate, a popular product used in built liquid detergent systems, there are a number of reasons for considering Cola®Trope INC as a more viable alternative for formulations.

Cola®Trope INC has been tested according to Method OECD 301D and determined to be inherently biodegradable.

Cola®Trope INC-K

Potassium Alkanate, Bleach Stable, Hydrotrope

Cola®Trope INC-K has been developed for use in systems with high electrolytes. Similar to our Cola®Trope INC, it is used to couple nonionics and other surfactants into highly built products. Cola®Trope INC-K is a very versatile, low foaming surfactant and hydrotrope in one molecule. Cola®Trope INC-K is the potassium salt alternative to our Cola®Trope INC product. It is useful in formulations where the sodium salt ion needs to be avoided. In addition, Cola®Trope INC-K has a lower Krafft point than Cola®Trope INC.

Like Cola®Trope INC, Cola®Trope INC-K is a stand-alone surfactant and as such will contribute to the surface activity, wetting and/or detergency properties of your formulated product.

Cola®Trope INC-K has excellent stability in hypochlorite solutions and does not contribute to the degradation of the hypochlorite in the formulation.

Cola®Trope OD

Environmentally Safe, Naturally Derived Hydrotrope

Cola®Trope OD is a highly effective hydrotropes with excellent environmental attributes. Many hydrotropes currently on the market today are made from environmentally unfriendly materials. For the formulator who is formulating safer, “green” products, hydrotropes such as SXS and cresylic acid based hydrotropes are no longer safe and environmentally acceptable.

Cola®Trope OD is derived from natural sources and are non-petroleum based materials. Cola®Trope OD is more effective than sodium xylene sulfonate and has excellent wetting and detergency properties and soluble in up to 20% KOH and 15% NaOH.

Cola®Trope OD is a moderate foamer that is useful in developing vertical foaming cleaners. It is recommended for neutral to alkaline pH formulations and not to be used in acid pH formulations.

Cola®Trope OD is listed on CleanGredients.

Cola®Wet DOSS 70E

Sulfosuccinate Surfactant

Cola®Wet surfactants are chemically classified as dialkyl sulfosuccinates. These anionic surfactants provide a wide variety of functional properties that include surface and interfacial tension reduction, wetting, dispersing, emulsifying, penetrating, and solubilizing. Cola®Wet products are suitable for use in a broad range of applications such as wetting agents, detergents, agricultural, mining and textile products, as well as, emulsifiers/dispersants in water treatment, paint, ink and polymerization formulations.

Chemical Stability in Acid and Alkaline Systems
Cola®Wet products are stable in neutral hot and cold aqueous solutions, as well as, in systems in the pH range of 5-9. In systems outside this range, they are subject to hydrolysis. Their rates of hydrolysis increase rapidly in highly acidic and alkaline systems and accelerate when accompanied by elevations in temperature. In certain applications, hydrolysis can be used advantageously to prevent re-wetting after initial wetting has been accomplished.
